Woman dies following stabbing in Fort Wayne's north side

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA 21) -

UPDATE: The victim in Thursday morning's stabbing has died.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said when police arrived at the stabbing scene they found a woman down inside an apartment. She was transported from the scene in critical condition to a local hospital where she later died.

Police were notified of the stabbing when family members went to check on her well-being and found her down. As of the time of this report, detectives and crime scene technicians are processing the scene and talking to neighbors to hopefully talk to someone with information.

The stabbing remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroner's office and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.


Police responded to a stabbing at a north-side apartment complex Thursday morning.

The stabbing took place at an apartment in the 200 block of Northeast Drive. This is in the Coldwater Crossing Apartments complex.

Police responded to the scene just after 9 am. They are treating it as if it is a critical injury stabbing.
