Doug Barrow joined WPTA in 1997 as National Sales Manager from Katz Continental in Detroit where he used to sell the station. Prior to that, Doug had been a Media Supervisor and Associate Research Director at WB Doner in Detroit, and a Media Buyer/Planner at Leo Burnett in Detroit and Chicago.
Doug enjoys working with local and regional agencies as well as local clients to create marketing strategies that will help them get results. And with an experienced team of sellers, we’re confident in our ability to grow the business of all those that we work with.
Originally from Grand Blanc, Michigan, Doug attended Michigan State University where he received a double major in Advertising and Philosophy. He and his wife Sarah have two kids, Dylan and Kate, and he is a fan of blues music, live sports and all things basketball.
As was once said about Douglas Adams, “he was tall, very tall. He had an air of cheerful diffidence. He combined an understanding of what he was doing with the puzzled look of someone who backed into a profession that surprised him in a world that perplexed him. And he gave the impression that, all in all, he was rather enjoying it”
